Indian Institute of Science

Welcome to my home page. I am a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at IISc Bangalore. I head the Visualization and Graphics Lab, and am part of the Visual Analytics Group. Prior to joining IISc, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Institute for Data Analysis and Visualization at University of California, Davis. I graduated with a Ph.D. in computer science from Duke University.

I am currently on a sabbatical leave, visiting Zuse Institute Berlin on a fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and as a Berlin MATH+ Visiting Scholar.

My current research interests include scientific visualization, computational topology, computational geometry, and geometry processing. Detailed descriptions of current and previous research projects is available within the Visualization and Graphics Lab pages. Mimyk is a startup co-founded by VGL and M2D2 lab alum that is developing immersive technologies for medical simulation.

If you are a non-IISc student who wishes to contact me regarding an intern or project assistant position, please read this note first.
