WACE is a Walmart initiative aimed at conducting impactful and transformational research at the frontiers of Algorithms, Edge Computing, and Learning.

Specific thrust areas of WACE include:

• Modern algorithms for optimization problems that arise in analytic, economic, and planning contexts.
• Energy-efficient processing-in-edge for large scale machine learning.
• Redesigning reinforcement learning methods for scalability and robustness.

WACE will focus on foundational research and strive to be a leading research hub for the above-mentioned areas. Further, by way of conducting cutting-edge research, WACE aims to play a pivotal role in the development of preeminent researchers and strengthen India's global research presence.
