Research projects for 2026 will be discussed sometime in August 2026. I am yet to decide if all teams (either individual or teams of two) that do a project will be pursuing a research project or pursuing a common project. As a guideline, you can see the project description for 2024, which is available here (when students did a common project).
The project will involve reading papers to understand the state of the art, building a working system, writing a report with your findings and experimental measurements, and presenting the work to me.
Warning: This project involves significant learning and system building. If you put off the work until the last minute, you will not be able to complete it. Every part of the project builds on the prior part, so you will really start lagging behind unless you work consistently throughout the semester. There will be no extensions granted for any part of the project.
