The course project is your chance to explore your ideas. It must involve original research (surveys are not acceptable). The project can be done in teams of two or three. If you want to do the project alone please talk to the instructor first.

The template for the project proposal, project report and presentation will be provided in due time.

Choosing a project: The project must be related to computer architecture but the students (especially research students) are welcome to align their course project with their primary research work. For example, a student researching in theory is welcome to study performance modeling of a processor. Other option is to skim research papers from conferences like ISCA, ASPLOS, MICRO, HPCA, OSDI etc., to get an idea about what project they could pursue. Also, feel free to talk to the instructor for ideas. The teams will be encouraged to talk to the instructor while trying to come up with project idea.

Working in teams: In a team project, it is expected that each member of the team contributes meaningfully. At the end of the project, the instructor may require students to declare who contributed to what parts of the project. More is expected out of teams with larger number of members.
