Postdoctoral Researcher position available
I am looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a project in the area of topological data analysis and time-varying data visualization.
Fellowship / Scholarship: Several postdoctoral scholarships are available: ANRF NPDF, Dr. Radhakrishnan UGG Postdoc fellowship, DST Inspire Faculty Fellowship, Axis Bank Centre postdoc. You may also apply for the IISc Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
Duration: One year with possible extension to a second year subject to satisfactory progress and mutual consent. Start date depends on funding source (as mentioned above).
Qualification: Ph.D. in Computer Science or Mathematics with expertise in either computational geometry / topology or computer graphics / visualization / image processing / computer vision. Applicants who have submitted their dissertation may also apply.
Required skill set: Strong academic training in computer graphics / visualization, data structures, algorithms; experience with programming in C/C++ and software design; good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
Project description: The project involves the development of new techniques and algorithms for feature extraction, visualization, and exploration of 3D time-varying data in various engineering and science applications. These data are available either from computer simulations or imaging devices. The aim of the project is to employ a topology-driven approach and develop algorithms for extracting, representing, and exploring features in the data.
