PhD under QIP Scheme
Teachers from AICTE-recognized institutes can apply for the PhD programme at CSA under AICTE’s Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) scheme.
Eligibility
Candidates must:
- Have an MTech or equivalent in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electronics / Electrical Communication / Electrical / Information Science / Information Technology (required by AICTE), in addition to the qualifications for the regular PhD program.
- Have at least 3 years of teaching experience at graduate/polytechnic level.
- Be sponsored by their institution (on deputation).
- Undertake to serve their parent institute for a minimum of 3 years after completing the programme.
Assistance
Selected candidates are eligible for various forms of assistance from AICTE in the form of monthly scholarship, contingency grant, and travel allowance, for 3 years.
Selected candidates must go through a 1 year contact programme where they have to spend 2 months or more at CSA/IISc, following which their PhD programme begins.

How to Apply
For Aug 2025 cycle: Candidates can apply online during 01 to 31 March 2025. Interviews will be held at CSA/IISc subsequently.
