Abstract:
We are in the middle of an intelligence revolution, with impactful new AI innovations across various sectors from consumer products to enterprise cloud offerings, and even fundamental scientific research. These amazing advances have been made possible by equally impressive progress in computing infrastructure. But as we look at continued exponential growth, the growth, volatility, and diversity of the rapid pace of innovation demands dramatic improvements in compute efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. This talk will discuss disruptive innovations and new opportunities: from ??mud to cloud,? from datacenter infrastructure to broader cloud computing services; and from ??chip to ship,? from the design of hardware to their deployment and usage in production. Codesign and collaboration ?? across the hardware-software stack, across disciplines, and across communities ?? will be key to this exciting new future.
