With profound regret, the CSA department mourns the passing of Professor V. Rajaraman, widely revered as the Doyen of Computer Science Education in India and former Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Automation, IISc, on Saturday, November 8, 2025. In his demise, we have lost a visionary whose contributions shaped the very foundation of computer science education in the country

We deeply mourn the passing of Prof. M. R. Chidambara, popularly known as Prof. MRC, former Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Automation. He was one of the prominent faculty members involved in building the Department during the early years of School of Automation (the erstwhile name of the Department of CSA). He was the Chairman of the Department during 1987-1990.
