The Sir M. Visvesvarya award is given by the state of Karnataka and recognizes and honors senior scientists/Engineers for their lifetime contributions for the development of science and technology in the state. The award carries a cash prize, a momento and a citation.

The award presentation function will be held at the J.N. Tata Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science Campus, Bengaluru on Thursday, 26th September 2024. Shri Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka will present the award in presence of Bharat Ratna Prof. C.N.R. Rao and other dignitaries. Shri N. S. Boseraju, Hon’ble Minister for Minor Irrigation, Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, will preside over the function.

This honour goes to authors who have published 8 or more papers in the annual ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Microarchitecture, which along with ISCA and ASPLOS, is the flagship venue for research in computer architecture.
